Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem-solving competition available to students of all ages around the world.

Each year Odyssey of the Mind issues 5 different challenges that focus on science, technology engineering, math and the arts. Students present solutions to these challenges as 8-minute theatrical performances. Another part of the competition is the Spontaneous portion, in which the students compete by generating verbal, verbal hands-on, or hands-on solutions to a short, timed problem they have not seen before. These creative problem-solving activities take place at regional, state and world competitions. To view a video of last year’s regional competition, click here.

Over 150 Pennsbury families participate in the program every year. We are a very competitive school district, sending a team to the World Finals 30 out of the last 33 years. OM is endorsed by the Pennsbury Superintendent of Schools, Dr. William Gretzula. To watch a video of him describing the importance of the program to our community, click here.
